"Solar" Power Assisted Cover Reel

The Vanguard Professional pool reel
uses a standard, widely available,
Yuasa battery.

Although designed for years of service,
the battery, like the one in your car,
will need replacing from time to time.

As such, we have designed in the ever
popular Yuasa NP7-12 battery. If required,
we can supply replacements to you, or they
can be bought locally in most countries.

Quick spec:

Yuasa 12Vdc, 7Ahr Sealed Lead Acid battery block
With 187A Faston tabs (0.187")
Operating range of -20 to +60dC (with temperature controlled charging)
Typical life between 3 to 5 years depending on use.

The Vanguard uses a large 7Ahr battery which gives dozens of operations on one charge. This enables you to operate the pool reel throughout the day between swims should you wish.

We use a top quality, Yuasa branded battery that can be sourced worldwide. We can supply these to you as spares and Yuasa have local retailers in most countries, the majority of whom will stock this battery.

Battery gone flat? In the extremely unlikely event that the main battery ever goes flat, it can be recharged as follows using a proper 12v lead acid battery charger:

1) Disconnect the battery from the pool reel.
2) Place the battery in a ventilated environment where the ambient temperature is between 10dC and 30dC
3) Use a dedicated lead acid battery charger with a regulated float charge voltage of 13.8 Volts DC
4) The charger should be current limited to 1 Amp
5) The charger should be disconnected after 16 hours

The charger in the Vanguard Professional Pool Reel is a lot smarter than a typical off the shelf device which is why it can be left on for years through a wide range of temperatures.
