"Solar" Power Assisted Cover Reel
With a proper internal structure that doesn't require the outer covers on to work, a strong, stable platform is achieved giving superior performance over time.
Having internal mechanics makes the pool reel installation process easy. The end stands (shown left) are simply screwed to the deck and then the outer covers are slid on over the top.
In keeping with our high quality design approach, we use stainless steel ball races in both the motor and the non motor ends which effectively eliminates any wear.
Machined from extruded aluminium sections, the internal mechanics are designed to give decades of silent service - it's a shame that you rarely see them!
With the covers removed (as above) you can see that the Vanguard Professional is built properly and designed for maximum strength. The all metal parts are made from anodised aluminium and stainless steel, giving durability that lasts a lifetime.
The plates at the bottom are 5mm thick and have 4 holes in each for fixing to the pool deck (fixings supplied - we even include a masonry drill bit if fixing to concrete or stone).
The aluminium covers are fully powder coated and slide over the internal mechanics without any bolts or fixings, making access easy and quick. The covers are guided by sprung loaded plates (see image - grey part).
On the output shaft of the motor (and also on the non motor end) is a solid, hard anodised 25mm hexagonal drive pinion which connects to the tube end plates. This ensures reliable transmission from the motor to the tube and also allows some movement of the tube due to thermal expansion / installation misalignment.
